Mathematics
Investigations in Number, Data and Space is an inquiry-based mathematics program that looks and feels quite different from a traditional mathematics program.
  • Students spend more time exploring problems in depth.
  • The teacher guides, facilitates and encourages students to approach problems in many different ways.
  • Students are encouraged to find more than one solution to the many problems they work on.
  • Emphasis is placed on the process of problem solving as students are encouraged to express their mathematical thinking through drawing, writing, and talking.
  • The teacher guides and facilitates the students through the use of targeted questioning while students develop their own strategies and approaches, rather than relying on memorized procedures.
  • The program offers a variety of concrete materials and appropriate technology to engage all learners.
  • Learning is differentiated while they work in a variety of groupings such as a whole class, individually, in pairs, and in small groups.
  • Students are encouraged to move around in the classroom as they explore the mathematics in their environment and talk with their peers.

Investigations in Number, Data and Space is a coherent and focused K-5 mathematics curriculum that can be used to implement the philosophy and content described by The Common Core State Standards for Mathematics (CCSS).

Connected Mathematics 2 (CMP2) is a comprehensive, research-based, problem-centered curriculum designed for all students in grades 6-8. The program seeks to make connections within mathematics, between mathematics and other subject areas, and to the real world. Through the use of CMP2 students will be able to reason and communicate proficiently in mathematics. CMP2 helps students develop an understanding of important concepts, skills, procedures, and ways of thinking and reasoning in number sense, measurement, geometry, algebra, probability and statistics. The concepts are embedded in engaging problems that students explore individually, in a small group, or with a whole class.

CMP2 is a coherent and focused 6-8 mathematics curriculum that can be used to implement the philosophy and content described by The Common Core State Standards for Mathematics (CCSS ).
