Testing

4Sight Testing – 4Sight assessments are one-hour quarterly benchmark assessments in reading developed by the Success for All Foundation. 4Sight mirrors the blueprint of the AIMS assessment and provides a prediction of student performance on the AIMS. 4Sight provides diagnostic information on AZ Standards and specific sub-skills to guide classroom instruction and professional development efforts. 4Sight is designed to be useful to teachers and school leaders. With easy-to-use scoring rubrics teachers can quickly determine each child’s strengths and weaknesses. This assessment is given at the end of each quarter.  Click here to go the testing calendar for specific dates these assessments will be given.

Galileo Testing –  Galileo assessments are quarterly benchmark assessments in reading writing and math. These assessments are reliable and valid assessments aligned with state standards.

Once an assessment is completed and scored the results are used to guide the development of data-driven instruction. Parents and students can access secure and timely achievement data through the K‑12 Student-Parent Center. AZMerit Testing ( ARIZONA’S MEASUREMENT OF EDUCATIONAL READINESS TO INFORM TEACHING ) - AzMERIT replaces AIMS for reading, writing, and math. This means students will no longer take AIMS for these subject areas. AzMERIT is also shorter than AIMS. This means your student will spend less time taking state tests than in previous years. Students in Grades 3 through 8 will take AzMERIT in English Language Arts and Math at their grade level. The English Language Arts test includes a writing portion and a reading portion. AzMERIT goes beyond multiple-choice questions. This means that the test results provide a better indicator of what students have learned during the school year. AzMERIT will allow for faster score reporting. However, the initial year’s results will be delayed. For more information about AZMERIT, click here.

Arizona English Language Learner Assessment (AZELLA) - The Arizona English Language Learner Assessment (AZELLA) is a standards-based assessment that meets both state and federal requirements to measure students’ English language proficiency. AZELLA is used for both placement and reassessment purposes. Students who have been identified as second language learners on the Home Language Survey take the AZELLA placement test, and the students’ proficiency scores determine appropriate placement for instruction. Students who have been placed into an English language learner program will also take the AZELLA reassessment once per year until they achieve proficiency. Students who have scored proficient on the AZELLA are then monitored for two years to help ensure success after their move into a mainstream classroom. For more information for when the AZELLA test will be given click here.
