Homework Expectations

Homework reinforces class work through practice and extension. It provides students with the opportunity to display responsible behavior and to extend the conditions by which they learn. It also plays an important role by involving the parents in the education of their child(ren). To successfully educate children, parents and teachers must work together. Homework is one way parents can make a meaningful contribution to helping their child(ren) succeed.

All students in grades 3-8 will be assigned homework four nights a week, Monday through Thursday. Students can call the Homework Hotline Monday through Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. during the school year for assistance. Two certified teachers and a Spanish-speaking translator are on call to assist students with homework problems.

The number to call is (602) 246-5000. Keep this number posted by your phone, and encourage your children to take advantage of this free service.

Please also review your teacher's webpage for any homework assignments.
